MyHome Renovations was launched to make it easier – and less stressful – for Aucklanders to transform their existing homes to better fit the changing needs of their families. We’ve been in the business of renovating and remodelling homes for more than 20 years and have won several awards while working as part of a franchise renovation company.
We’ve also extensively renovated three homes of our own, so we get how hard it can be – the initial excitement and anticipation, then nervousness, confusion and feeling overwhelmed that can follow. It can take constant chasing, waiting, researching, querying, discussing, debating, finalising, revising – and that’s just the design phase!

Every home is different and each project bespoke. While other builders often use renovation projects to fill gaps in their schedules, enhancing existing homes with a wraparound service is all we do.
Cost Control
We’ve all seen reality TV shows with budget blow-outs and huge time delays. That’s why we’ve created our Design-Assist-Build model to make sure your project stays on track and you receive professional advice to achieve the best outcome.
- Practical design: Our pragmatic approach and practical suggestions during the design phase mean we deliver realistic and sensible designs with your budget in mind.
- Fittings and fixtures: We’ll help you choose wisely so you get value for money without compromising on quality.
- Comprehensive scope and specification detailing: This means you know exactly what will be done and what materials will be used to deliver the home you really want.
Fixed prices
Because we get to know your project inside out, right from the initial concept design you’ll get a fixed price to deliver your renovation project, minimising surprises and hidden costs.
The alternative method is called Charge-Up or Cost Plus where you’re charged for the actual time and materials used. Budgets can quickly get way out of control and you don’t want to run out of money before you cross the finish line!
Working directly with an architect doesn’t solve the issue either – once your plans are finalised, any practical changes your builder may suggest could end up costing you more in changes to the plans and possible re-submissions to council.
Concept to completion
At MyHome, we have the right people who have the right skills, experience and knowledge in dedicated roles to assist you through the renovation process, from concept to completion.
We’re not juggling multiple roles – our team members can each focus on the one job they do best. For example, our director Kris is a qualified builder, but is dedicated to helping you through the design and consenting process.
OUR GUARANTEE – YOUR PEACE OF MIND
As a member of the NZ Certified Builders Association, we are able to provide the 10 year Halo guarantee to all the homeowners we work with. It is a comprehensive, third-party guarantee that backs up our work, offering you peace of mind that any issues with the build will be resolved. With the Halo guarantee you’ll rest easy knowing:
- You have 10 years cover for structural and 2 years cover for non-structural defects.
- Any additional expenses such as alternative accommodation costs, debris removal, and/or fees will be covered if any rectification work is needed.
- You can transfer the balance of the guarantee to a new home owner if you sell.

It’s important for you to know what’s going on during your renovation. Our innovative project management tool gives you an outstanding level of interaction and oversight over your renovation project. Our 24/7 tool uses cloud-based technology to manage the entire project. You’ll be able to

The MyHome Team
When you choose MyHome Renovations, you’ll have a team of professionals working with you.
Kris MacGregor
As the owner and Managing Director, Kris will guide you through the design and product selection process. He’s a trade-qualified carpenter and a Licenced Building Practitioner (LBP) and will oversee the construction of your project. He’s been renovating Auckland homes for almost 30 years and has been involved in more than 250 renovation projects during his career.
Barbara MacGregor
Barbara manages the marketing and administration at MyHome Renovations. She comes from a background in sales and marketing and has been working alongside Kris since 2010. Barbara received the 2023 Highly Commended award for Excellence in Construction Administration - Office Based from the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) and is a current member of the Auckland committee for the NZ Certified Builder Association, helping with the organisation of social and education events for NZCB members in the region.
Chris Case
Chris is responsible for scoping and pricing up projects. He’s a trade-qualified and licenced carpenter with a focus on carpentry and design, and has over 30 years experience in the building industry. Chris is fondly known as 'Mr Miyagi' by the MyHome team.
Jade Barron
Jade is a qualified project manager with great organisational skills. He has been working with the MyHome team for a number of years now. With a background in the manufacture and installation of kitchens, Jade has an eye for the smallest of details.
Carpentry Team
Our carpentry team is made up of several trade-qualified and licenced carpenters. Dan and Mike are our qualified LBPs/lead carpenters with experience on a range of different construction projects. Whilst Malik is a qualified carpenter supporting our leads and other members of the team. MyHome Renovations is a big supporter of the apprenticeship training programmes and currently have Cam and Theo working through their apprenticeships with the support of the rest of the team. Cam won the Auckland Central & Eastern competition in the 2022 NZCB Apprentice Challenge and Theo took out the same honor in 2023!

Our subcontractor and supplier partners are extremely important to our process and to the delivery of a positive renovation experience. They have been tried and tested and only those that deliver to a high standard and who are trustworthy and reliable will make the MyHome team.
